NEW COVER

There are so many people to thank along this journey called life. This time the thanks go to Tony Todaro, CEO of Todaro Designs and West Coast Writers' Conferences. He also founded the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society. I first met Tony when I gave a keynote speech at one of the WC2 conferences a few years ago. He has been in my corner both as a friend and supporter of my mission to help abuse victims ever since.

When Tony heard my book was being updated, he offered to design a dynamic new cover and this is the result.

This book was the beginning. My fight isn't over yet and I can promise you that the next book I'm working on with Denny Griffin and Morgan St. James will be explosive. As many of you know, I've gone from being a victim to a victor and a warrior. When the past comes back to haunt you, the action begins. Many thanks to all of you and my Bellas for all you do.

SHE COULD HAVE DIED MANY TIMES, BUT SURVIVED AND TELLS HER STORY

La Bella Mafia, is a volunteer support network of women who have walked in those shoes and become abuse survivors, helping others. Many of these women were in such dire circumstances they had to turn off all emotions in order to survive.

The #MeToo movement has emboldened many abuse and sexual harassment victims to come forward and tell their stories. The odyssey of writing this book began well before that movement, and took immense courage. Bella Capo is a fighter who endured so much, yet found the ability to write about her life and survival in order to help others. But that is not all she did. She established the La Bella Mafia Facebook page and movement even as she was running for her life. Thousands have been helped by this amazing woman.

Bella opens the book with this statement: "I had endured so much, I was beyond feeling anything. Because I believe in angels, I had a crying angel tattooed on my back so it could cry for me when I couldn't cry for myself."

Through counseling and writing the book, she now has the ability to cry for herself, so every page is stained with her tears. No More Crying Angels is available in paperback, Kindle and ePub editions on and is offered by most online booksellers.

Excerpt from the Introduction in Bella's words.

I never believed I would be able to write about the shocking existence I endured from the time I was only four, but now I know I must if others are to be helped. Bella is not my given name, but it is who I have finally become and this is my story. My co-authors, Dennis Griffin and Morgan St. James, held my hand all the way through the trauma of reliving everything and have put my memories and stories into what you are about to read: No More Crying Angels.

I warn you, this book is not for the faint of heart. No child or young woman should ever have to go through what I did. If you looked at our family on the surface, we appeared to be living the American Dream with a nice house, luxuries, my father's successful career and plenty of his important friends. The dark secrets of a sadistically abusive father and brother, sexual abuse, ties to organized crime and free-flowing drugs should have had no place in the life of the little girl who twirled and danced in her perfect pink bedroom while wearing a fluffy tutu.

That lovely image was what everyone saw, while the horrendous underbelly of our family remained hidden, and continued into my life as a teen and an adult. You might think things like these only happen in movies, on TV or in fiction, but let me assure you, everything is true. By all odds, I should have died many times but something in me gave me the strength to close out the horrible reality, the physical abuse and living on the edge.

Bella believes the reason she survived is to be there for support of the hundreds, if not thousands, of victims La Bella Mafia has helped.

Inspiring and amazing

A true story that holds onto the reader and doesn't let go. Bella is a remarkable person who is sharing her experiences of survival and the life she led, and the life she was trying to escape from. It's more powerful and gripping because it's based on a true story. There is a light in this story, and it's more than just survival, surviving the past, and PTSD that is hard to ever get away from, but being able to share the story and help others. Healing helps heal others. A story that needs to be read and shared.
